Gould’s community service club, known as Reachout, held an on-campus fundraiser this week selling masks students made themselves in the Marlon Family IDEAS Center.
For each mask purchased—a bargain at $5—Reachout is providing a free mask to a student at local Crescent Park Elementary School. At the end of their first day, they had already raised enough to give away 100 masks.
“We wanted to be able to put a smile on people’s faces—even in a mask,” said Lexi Ordway ’21, who coordinated the project. “We want to strive to do better with the Bethel Community. We know how hard the past few months have been, and being able to do a small thing that can make an even greater difference in someone’s life.”
This month the Reachout group is also organizing a pink dress-down day for breast cancer awareness, “finals” baskets, and a Halloween scavenger hunt for faculty children.
