What do you do if the head of school announces that it’s Mountain Day but your team has a match? If your an alum, as Coach Alec Newell ’88 is, you take your team on a hike along the way!
“We opened the fall athletic season on Friday, splitting our match with Hebron Academy 2–2. Baylen Williams and Noah French won their matches for the Gould scoring.
“It was a great day overall,” Newell adds. “It was a Gould Golf Mountain Day! First, we went to the Bethel Inn and warmed up at the driving range. Then, off to hike Buck’s and Lapham Ledges for our Mountain Day hike and then on to Poland Spring to play Hebron. A great full day with a great group!”
