Gould is pleased to announce that Ben Kamilewicz ’95 will take over the reins as the Nordic Program head coach for the coming season. In addition to being a Gould graduate, Kamilewicz was a faculty member and coached in the Gould Nordic Program years ago, and returned last fall as associate registrar and assistant Nordic coach. Current head coach Laurel Fiddler is heading west to enroll in a graduate degree program.
“We are fortunate to have a new head coach on board who already knows the coaching staff, the athletes, and the community,” says Athletic Director Bob Harkins. “Ben has an extensive coaching and international competitive background, that together with his knowledge and experience with our current athletes, means he will hit the ground running with no transition down time. We could not be more excited to welcome Ben to this new role and look forward to great things for our athletes and our Nordic program!”

“I’m extremely excited to assume the reins of Gould’s Nordic Program,” says Kamilewicz, “and to further amplify the successes our athletes and program have seen over the years. Coach Fiddler established a solid base for future growth.”
Both Harkins and Kamilewicz point to the ever-expanding networks of local trails (including improvements to Gould’s own Pine Hill), early snow access in nearby Grafton Notch, and amazing training opportunities literally everywhere as reasons to be excited about the future of Gould’s Nordic program. Kamilewicz also hopes to expand Gould’s summer training and camp opportunities.
“The school is dedicated to seeing the Nordic Program reach new heights. There is a legacy of excellence in cross-country skiing here. We’ve got a winning combination that’s unstoppable. Go Huskies!”
