Cross Country running team hosts Hebron and Kents Hill for MAISAD Invitational.
On Saturday, Gould runners tested their mettle not only against their counterparts from the full MAISAD league who were in attendance, but also braved rain and cold temperatures as they ran to victory.
“Much of the school community came out,” writes Coach Adam Leff, “to cheer our runners along the ‘speed course’ we created on the lower fields that scaled the hillside up to Rt. 5. As the music blared, our runners kept a positive attitude even as they forded the standing water on our course left from the day’s rain.”
Gould girls carried the day again, with runners finishing in 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th place! The race was won by newcomer Lydia Bennett ’21 with Reese Furneaux ’25, Sam Ellis ’23, Hannah Grohman ’24, and Eliza Skillings ’21 coming across the line ins short order.
On the boys’ side, Nathan Livingood ’22 set the pace for all runners and all our boys had season-best runs! Stay tuned for more race reports as Gould XC brings its Husky spirit to the Kents Hill course next weekend!
